The North Ostrobothnia Museum, part of the Oulu Museum and Science Centre, is responsible for the study, protection and management of the cultural environment in North Ostrobothnia. The North Ostrobothnia Museum’s building specialists provide advice to municipalities, communities, companies and private individuals in the region of North Ostrobothnia. We offer advice on the conservation, study, restoration and planning of built heritage.

The museum provides expert opinion in consultations with planning authorities and through the work of regional authorities carried out under the guidelines of the Ministry of the Environment and the Finnish Heritage Agency.

The role of building specialists is to guide and promote the protection and preservation of the built cultural environment and heritage buildings in the region.
