At the Turkansaari Open Air Museum, visitors can learn about the traditional industries of the Oulujoki River and the Oulu region, such as agriculture, tar burning, salmon fishing, logging and timber floating. In addition, the historic buildings in the area showcase the peasant building culture of North Finland.

Our summer events introduce the traditions and customs of the countryside of old and offer a look into everyday life and celebrations of yesteryear.
